How to Add Spots to Your SignUp

Build Out Your Schedule with Jobs, Shifts, Appointments, and More

Spots are what participants sign up for — a job to do, a shift to cover, an item to bring, an appointment to attend. You can add Spots during signup creation or anytime afterward. Here is how both work.

Adding Spots to a New SignUp

During the setup process, step two prompts you to add Spots. Click Create New Spot to get started, or select dates directly in the planning calendar.

Adding Spots to an Existing SignUp

  1. Log in and open your SignUp from the Dashboard.
  2. Go to the Spots tab in Organizer view and select the date you want to add to.
  3. Click the gear icon and choose Add.

What You Can Configure in the Add a Spot Window

The window has three sections:

  • What do people sign up for? Set the quantity (any number or unlimited), choose the type (do/attend or bring), enter a title, and select timing (start time, start/end time, or anytime). Use Add Shifts to generate multiple shifts at once by setting a start/end time, shift length, and break time.
  • What day(s) does this spot happen? Select one or multiple dates, or set up a repeating schedule (weekly, monthly, or daily). Monthly repeats can follow specific dates or a pattern, like every first Monday.
  • Extra details (optional): Add qualifications, links to maps or documents, location details, parking instructions, food allergy notes, or dress codes. These appear when participants select a spot and are included in their confirmation and reminder emails.

A Few Helpful Tips

  • Use Add Another to quickly duplicate a spot with the same details — great for creating multiple identical slots.
  • Plan your SignUp 3 to 5 months out for the best experience.
  • Once your spots are saved, click Next to choose a background theme and move on to inviting participants.
