How to Change the Primary Organizer on Your SignUp

Two Ways to Transfer Ownership — With or Without Staying On

Last Updated June 17, 2026

There are two ways to transfer Primary Organizer responsibilities to someone else. The right choice depends on whether you want to keep access to the SignUp after the handoff.

Option 1: Pass the Baton

This fully transfers Primary Organizer status to someone else. Once complete, you will no longer have access to the SignUp. The recipient must already have a registered SignUp account with a password.

  1. Go to your Dashboard and locate the SignUp.
  2. Click the settings gear icon and select Pass the Baton.

Option 2: Add and Change the Organizer (Premium Only)

This designates someone else as the new Primary Organizer while you stay on as an Assistant Organizer. This option is available to Premium members only.

  1. Go to the Details tab in your SignUp's Organizer view and select Add New Organizer. Enter their contact information — SignUp will send them an Assistant Organizer invitation automatically.
  2. Once they accept, go to the Organizer Information section and use the pull-down menu to select their name as the new Primary Organizer.

A Few Things Worth Knowing

  • Only the Primary Organizer's name appears as the Organizer Contact on SignUp sheets and in email communication.
  • Only one organizer at a time can have a SignUp open for editing. When you are done making changes, click Back to My SignUps to release it.
